As a future children's graphic novel, we believe in having a strong and unique artistic direction that helps "Tears of Fire" standout.

Precedence

Comic Books (often known as Graphic Novels) have been in a dramatic state of flux since their inception. Thought initially regarded as a product for kids only, comic books slowly evolved into a gritty realism that has (in the past two decades) been associated with a ":mature-eyes-only" audience.  It is only with recent publications such as David Petersen's "Mouse Guard" that comic books are being put back into the hands of the children, with a focus on whimsical artistry once more.  Tears of Fire hopes to achieve this same mastery.  Below are examples of "Graphic Novels" intended for ages eight to twelve.

Narrative Direction

British author, Rudyard Kupling, was famous for his reference to magic, and transformation of animals in his "Just So Stories for Little Children" publication, which also featured Kupling's own illustrations.  These, along with other children's stories, were subsequently produced into a televisions series titled "Rabbit Ears Production."  

Artistic Direction

Children's books often rely on traditional media to produce a notable artistic quality, which we plan to reproduce within "Tears of Fire."
